“Woman in the sun” is an original 5x6 ft. work done on canvas, commissioned by Reem Assil and lives on the wall at Dyafa in Oakland, California. The Woman in the piece represents the indigenous Arab woman or Falaha dressed in a “Thobe” with patterns from no particular region, but adopted from many places, in essence she represents different communities in one.
