“Oud strums over Jaffa” 2018 was commissioned by Chef Reem Assil and lives on the walls of Dyafa i Oakland as well, its sister work is “Woman in the Sun”. This piece is about “Return” the young man playing the Oud near the Old City Jaffa water with the home in the background along with the Basket of Oranges represents the elements of what home means to many Palestinians living in the diaspora. Oranges represent the lands lost in 1948.
